Skincare

In one of the pages of this site- Natural Makeup– I write that our skin is the largest external organ in the human body. Did you know that? Not many people do, so if you didn’t, don’t beat yourself up.

BUT maybe give yourself a little tsk tsk if you don’t do anything with that information. Because it is important.

What comes in contact with our skin ends up inside our bodies. So, the lot of us ought to take great care in how we treat our large organ.

Would you happily eat the face washes, lotions, creams, butters, and deodorants that you use on your skin? If your answer is yes to this question, then well done! You likely use non- poisonous ingredients.

BUT if your answer is no, then it might be time to take a serious look at your skincare routine and options. This is where the Handbook can assist.

Would I be happy to eat everything that I put on my skin? Well considering the fact that my arsenal includes plants, fruits, oils, honey, sugar, yoghurt, and oatmeal, I might not feel too tortured if I were to be made to ingest them.

What’s more is that the commercial products that I choose to accompany my skincare routine all boast of natural ingredients that rejuvenate my skin and make me feel good about using them at the same time.

This is the skincare goal for me!

I see too many beautiful ladies who torture their faces and the rest of their skin with products that will only dry out their skin or cause a horrible dependency, when in reality, Mother Nature has us covered for a lifetime of happy skin! All that’s needed is a little guidance and a commitment to look after the skin naturally.

I’m not exactly sure where my natural skincare passion came from, but I like to think my grandmother has a lot to do with it.

Her and I never had the chance to sit down and have a conversation about her skincare routines or regimes, but in recent times I have spoken of a new face mask I mixed in the kitchen or some other skincare regime and various family members have commented on my likeness to grandmommy Malaika. It warms me up to think that somewhere down the line I’ve acquired a gift from her that I treasure so much.

My grandmother had the most radiant skin.

She always glowed and had this beautiful colour in her cheeks. I think that all women deserve to have that kind of natural beauty. This is why I do dis!

Within the pages of this site I will be detailing how to have that amazing skin you have always coveted. All with those natural ingredients.

Some you can find in your kitchen and be able to mix straight away, others you can find online or at your local health store. And some are commercial products with Manika- Nia’s stamp of approval. I have written before about a garden, likening it to haircare. Our skin is the same. We must tend to the garden that is our body and the more we do, with love and care, the more beautiful it will become.

Skincare is a big topic, so if you have any questions or want some help with anything, I am right here to guide you. Be sure to get involved with discussions and always reach out if you’d like a natural product reviewed/discussed. Excited for this natural lifestyle?! So you should be!
